Where: Meet at Master Gardener's Pavilion in Martial Cottle Park (across from our site off Chynoweth Ave.) Park inside the park - pay at fee station, or look for parking off Chynoweth Ave. (watch out for ongoing construction)
What: Learn how to convert your water-thirsty lawn into a drought-tolerant dreamscape. One of the Master Gardeners will provide an in-depth lecture about the benefits of gardens and discuss different aspects of native and drought-tolerant plants; time for Q&A session and tour their native plant garden for the first hour. The group will walk over to Our City Forest's site afterward and see a step-by-step demonstration. At the end of the demo, participants will have a chance to help Our City Forest install some plants in their native garden for some hands on experience.
Bring a notebook and pen, reusable water bottle, close-toed shoes, sunscreen or sun protection and questions for the experts.
