Thank you for your interest in helping our Our City Forest. Please sign up with the project coordinator before attending these events.
Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
- General info for all volunteers: No previous tree planting experience is required. We do the demonstration of "How to Plant a Tree" at the very beginning of each planting event. It is important that you are on time to participate in the demo and receive important directions! Then we break up into small groups of 3-4 people, each group coached by an OCF Tree Amigo, and plant trees.
What to Bring: Dress appropriately! - Clothing you can afford to get dirty
- Drinking Water
- Rain gear if rain is threatening
- Closed-toed shoes
- Garden gloves
- Hat, sun screen, sunglasses as needed
We plant "Rain or Shine". Events will last approx 3-4 hours. Sometimes a neighborhood association or resident will provide refreshments. Sometimes, they don't. If you need verification that you helped at one of our events, please prepare your own document for one of our staff or a Tree Amigo to sign.Still have questions? E-mail Our City Forest
