Education for the San Jose Bag Ban
Our City Forest is partnering with the City of San Jose to help spread the work about the new plastic bag ban that took effect on January 1st. San Jose is now the largest city in the country to have such a ban, and one of the most all-encompassing: except for restaurants, no retailer is allowed to distribute plastic bags. This applies to more than 5,000 businesses within the city. Paper bags are still available, but now cost 10 cents each.
